Walking Around Casa Bonta: Relaxation, Nature, and Adventure
Whether you’re an experienced hiker, a passionate walker, or someone who enjoys a leisurely stroll, Casa Bonta is the perfect place for you. Our surroundings invite you to get lost in the greenery, where you can walk through forests and occasionally encounter deer, wild boar, foxes, or hares. And let’s not forget the breathtaking views you can expect along the way!
There are several beautiful hiking trails that start at Casa Bonta or are just a 10 to 15-minute drive away. All of these walks are clearly described in the information book you’ll find upon arrival at your accommodation. Additionally, we’re happy to provide personal tips for extra hikes that you might not find in the book.
One of my favorite walks starts right at Casa Bonta and leads to Rifugio Banca, a mountain hut located on the ridge of “our mountain”. This rifugio is a beloved rest stop for hikers, cyclists, and even motocross riders. The trail offers stunning views and takes you through the peaceful, unspoiled landscape that is characteristic of this region.
Another favorite walk takes you along the river. Occasionally, we take this spontaneous stroll with our guests, especially during peak season. It’s a family-friendly walk where children (and parents!) can not only enjoy nature but also take a refreshing dip. It’s always a joy to see our youngest guests wading through the water with smiles, searching for frogs or little fish.
In addition, there are many other beautiful walks nearby. Two of our favorites are:
- The walk through Montechiaro Alto, along the Calanchi (ancient dunes).
- The walk through the Beigua National Park near Sassello.
The nature surrounding Casa Bonta is full of surprises. Recently, during one of my hikes, I encountered a group of wild boars. We were both so startled that I was too late to grab my camera! Such unexpected encounters make every walk special and unforgettable.
In recent years, municipalities in Piedmont have been working hard to create more hiking trails and improve signage for existing routes. We wholeheartedly welcome this, as it makes walking in this beautiful region even more enjoyable.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing stroll or a challenging hike, the trails around Casa Bonta offer something for everyone. Put on your hiking shoes and come experience for yourself why walking here is such a unique experience!
